Course Description:
This four day workshop will provide Wyoming middle and high school educators with the equipment and training necessary to implement local water quality monitoring projects.
This course is offered to educators interested in joining The Wyoming Stream Team, a statewide monitoring project based out of Teton Science Schools' Conservation Research Center.
This program is made possible through funding from the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality and
the Environmental Protection Agency.
This is a classroom and field course, with training in water chemistry, habitat assessment, benthic macro-invertebrates, sampling protocols and field study design. Participants will build the foundation to initiate a monitoring project. The workshop will culminate in a full day of 'hands-on' stream testing. Participants will receive a full set of monitoring equipment upon completion of the workshop and will be eligible for a follow-up visit during the academic year from Conservation Research Center staff to assist in their monitoring projects.
